This 53-year old homeless man, Peeta, would come into my store (Footaction) almost everyday. I believe that he lived on one of the benches by the mall. So he would always come in, and the only stores he would look at were the shoe stores. I looked down on his feet, as you can see, he was wearing ratty old moccasins that did not fit him anymore. Everytime he would come in, I would talk to him about his life and all of the things we love about sneakers. I was so tempted to steal a pair and give them to him, but he would not let me. I told him that he could pick any shoe in the store he wanted and I would get it for him. The thing he said to me was “No thank you, son. You cannot risk your job just to make another person smile. You are a very nice boy though.”. After he said that to me, he walked out of the store. Later as the day went on, I couldn’t get him out of my mind. When the store was about to close, I bought a pair of Jordan Olympic 7’s with my own money. I went outside, and searched for him for 3 hours, until I finally found him sleeping near an old abandoned movie theatre. I placed the sneakers in his right arm, so when he would wake up he would find them. The next day, I went to work hoping to see the old man. I came just in time. It was approximately 8 in the morning, and he walked up to me and he gave me the biggest hug and he was crying. I’ve never felt something so good in my life. You truly do not understand what it feels like to be happy until you give something to someone less fortunate than you, without them having to ask for it. I will never forget Peeta, the dear old homeless man.

Teacher: Do you see God?
Student: No teacher.
Teacher: Can you touch God?
Student: No teacher.
Teacher: Then maybe there’s no God.
Student: Teacher do you see your brain?
Teacher: No
Student: Can you touch your brain?

A University professor at a well known institution of higher learning challenged his students with this question. "Did God create everything that exists?"
A student bravely replied: Yes he did!
The professor asked: God created everything?
the student replied: Yes sir, he certainly did
The professor answered: If God created everything; then God created evil. And, since evil exists, and according to the principle that our works define who we are, then we can assume God is evil
The student became quiet and did not answer the professor's hypothetical definition. The professor, quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand: May I ask you a question, professor?
Replied the professor: Of course
The student stood up and asked: Professor, does cold exist?
Professor: What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?
(The other students snickered at the young man's question)
The young man replied: "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460 F) is the total absence of heat; and all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."
The student continued: Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded: Of course it does."
The student replied: Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color.
You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor: Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded: Of course, as I have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily examples of man's Inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.
To this the student replied: Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

They started typing. They did every known job, reports, e-mails, attachments and download. But before the time was up, lightning, thunder and rain, and brownout came! Satan cursed. Jesus just sighed. When electricity was back, Satan lost every single thing he had done. But Jesus started printing all his files. Satan shouted: “You cheated!” Jesus just smiled. He did what Satan didn’t know: “Jesus saves.”

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. They eventually touched on the subject of God.
Barber: I don't believe that God exists.
Customer: Why do you say that?
Barber: Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn’t exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can’t imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.
-------
The customer thought for a moment, but didn’t respond because he didn’t want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again.
Customer: You know what? Barbers don't exist.
Barber: How can you say that? I am here. I am a barber, and I just worked on you!
Customer: No! Barbers don’t exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.
Barber: Ah, but barbers DO exist! That’s what happens when people do not come to me.
Customer: Exactly! That’s the point! God, too, DOES exist! That’s what happens when people do not go to Him and don’t look to Him for help. That’s why there’s so much pain and suffering in the world.

This is my best friend Jess. She is now cancer-free, and her hair has begun to grow back. Sometimes she’s a bit embarrassed because of how it looks, but I think she’s beautiful. Reblog if you do too.
